Video: Substances of human origin - how to help in a safe way?

Blood transfusions, organ and tissue transplants - they all can now save our lives or health when we are in need.

Although very beneficial, substances of human origin - (SoHO) are not without risks. To minimise them, the field is very carefully regulated in the EU. Among other bodies and organisations, ECDC is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of SoHO - in short - to make sure no communicable/infectious diseases are transmitted from from donors.
